Bok Open Studios
“Open Studios happens twice a year, where all 9 floors of the Bok building open for visitors to explore our hallways and meet our community! This free, family-friendly event welcomes you into the building’s inspiring spaces, home to fine artists, glass blowers, ceramicists, bakers, jewelers, guitar makers, designers, photographers, and more. Special activations include food vendors, community partners in the hallways, and pop-up art and music throughout the building. Plan to make a night of it by having a beverage on the roof at Bok Bar or grabbing dinner at Irwin’s.” —Building Bok

““Amy was a very clear teacher while also teaching us to rely on our own understanding of combinations etc, which was good because I appreciated that she did not overexplain and instead challenged us to practice our own recall of combinations. I feel like I really benefited from her descriptions of which muscles to use/engage/be mindful of, and I will take it with me when I return to my home studio. I also was really impressed by how sharp Amy is - I feel like even though we were a group of ~22, Amy paid attention to each one of us and was able to give individual corrections a lot, even when you thought she was focusing on someone else, which I really really appreciated and learned a lot from.””

““The instruction provided during this workshop was outstanding. Amy delivered personalized, individual feedback and corrections that were both insightful and transformative. She designed an intense yet well-structed program that was the ideal foundation to begin the winter/spring sessions of class work. The programming not only challenged me but illuminated areas I need to focus on throughout the year. The studio environment struck the perfect balance between seriousness and enjoyment, fostering both growth and motivation. Additionally, Amy went above and beyond by offering valuable resources and support outside of class time (e.g., class recordings and summaries, filmed variations), enhancing the overall experience. Each day, I left the studio feeling a profound blend of humbled determination, renewed motivation, and physical and mental strength. I am left with a deep well of inspiration to push beyond my perceived limits the rest of the year.””

““Excellent. Detailed and meaningful instructions and cues, combined with humor, are truly motivating. I really appreciate Amy’s structured approach — she builds slowly and methodically upon previous exercises. There’s a clear logic to the progression, and nothing feels random or rushed.””

““Attending this retreat was the smartest thing I did this summer and it was a great experience! Loved the focus on improving Vaganova technique and learning new ballet steps under Amy’s guidance. It is a treat for me to receive individual corrections in ballet class. Amy is a gifted and passionate ballet instructor as well as a wonderful and kind human being. We are fortunate in the adult ballet world to have Amy willing to offer her expertise and talents. “”
